SharePoint 12 Hive and 14 Hive
Ok this is a ‘micro’ or even a tweet – but I’m not going there it took long enough for me to get into blogging never mind Twittering. (Page edit : now twittering consistently!)
Anyway to the point.
I’m always referring to the SharePoint 12 hive directory structure and, rather than always typing this long file path out I’m going to write it here then link to this page in future blogs.
On the assumption you installed SharePoint or WSS to the root C drive of your server the path is going to be
SharePoint 2007 and WSS 3.0…
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12
SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint Foundation
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\14
